Walker County Commissioners meet this morning at nine at the courthouse for a regular session.
Today’s “Consent Agenda” includes renewal of various kinds of insurance coverage for the County.
Commissioners will hear the monthly update on the construction of the new County Jail. They will also receive various departmental reports.
On tonight’s “Statutory Agenda”–
Extension Agent Reggie Leppley will present a 4H proclamation. The Special Prosecution Unit’s Mark Edwards will discuss approval of a contract between the Comptroller of Public Accounts and the County. Precinct #4 Constable Gene Bartee will talk about approval of an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for a School Resource Officer between the County and HISD. Emergency Management Coordinator Butch Davis will discuss the acceptance of a State Homeland Security Grant for $90,000.
County Treasurer Sharon Duke will talk about acceptance of the Texas Association of Counties Healthy Program Employer Rewards of $3,350.
County Auditor Patricia Allen will discuss payment to jail construction company Sedalco of $1,346,760 and to jail architect firm Burns Architecture for $18,000.
Purchasing Director Mike Williford will discuss the approval of an award for the Inmate Telephone system at the new jail.
Commissioners will also discuss an Interlocal Agreement between the County and Lubbock County for Regional Public Defender cases and the compensation of District, County, and Precinct Officers on a Salary Basis.
There will also be a special session at 10:30 this morning to approve a bid for a bulletproof wall for the DA’s office.
