Congressman Kevin Brady held a well-attended Town Hall at the Chamber of Commerce in Huntsville Tuesday morning.
The congressman primarily addressed issues regarding the tax code. He talked about several means of taxation available. He said regarding the House Republican Budget that “The Ways & Means Committee has supplied sort of a framework, a draft, for them that we passed out of the House the last three years . . . .”
Congressman Brady says his “committee has decided that we are going to lay this out in September–the first rewrite since Reagan.” He said, “We’re going to seek public opinion on it.”
He asked for the input of those attending. The public can get on his website to express their opinions on tax reform at kevinbrady.house.gov. There seemed to be mutual agreement that the tax code is too big and that congress should act now. Mr. Brady also discussed immigration issues and Obamacare.
