Council Considering Amendments to Animal & Fowl Ordinance

Published on March 21, 2013 by Larry Crippen

At this week’s session of the Huntsville City Council, in a first reading City Police Chief Kevin Lunsford addressed the council in regard to an amendment to the City of Huntsville Code of Ordinances referring to animals and fowl.

The chief said even though they were able to deal with a certain dangerous dog situation recently, it was difficult to deal with because they didn’t have anything in their ordinance that covered it–so they had to use state law . . . .

AMEND3-2-13

There are additional items in the ordinance. The second reading of the document with any revisions should take place at the next regular session of the council.
