Council Discusses City Retirement Benefits

Tuesday night, Huntsville City councilmembers began tackling the issue of establishing stable retirement benefits for City employees.

City Finance Director Steve Ritter discussed various ways to do this.

In a conversation with Ritter, Ward #4 Councilmember Joe Rodriguez tried to put the issue in an understandable perspective . . . .


Positon #1 Councilmember Andy Brauninger voiced his concerns that he did not want our bond rating affected by whatever decision was made. Finance Director Ritter will make another presentation in the future and futher clarify the options open on the City’s retirement plan approach.

Mayor Pro Tem and Position #4 Councilmember Keith Olson looked to the future of the City’s retirement plan . . . .
