At Tuesday’s Council session, Position #2 Councilmember Lydia Montgomery gave an update on the Personnel Committee.
She said the City has decided to implement a wellness program through the Circle Wellness company. Cost and health benefits would be realized through early detection and prevention in their self-funded insurance plan. They transitioned the city’s medical benefits to one plan instead of three. The committee decided to make a lump sum payment to the TMRS System, which is their retirement system, in order to reduce their liabilities. It will help the City maintain more of a stable funding and minimize sharp increases on rates.
Ms. Montgomery talked about a possible clinic . . . .
They have also hired a new benefits consultant which has resulted in a significant cost-saving to their medical plan.
