Walker County Commissioners will meet in a regular session at nine this morning at the courthouse.
This morning’s “Consent Agenda” includes the awarding of a bid to Legacy Builders for the Courthouse Beautification Project for $43,500 dollars. Funding will be from budgeted funds for $31,980 dollars and from contingency funds for $11,520 dollars.
Commissioners will hear an update on the new County Jail construction.
Connie Heiland will talk about approval of grant match money for the Gibbs Powell House.
Steve Hill will discuss possible approval of incorporating Lois Kolkhorst’s old office space with the Constable Central Office.
I-T Director Cheryl Morris will discuss approval of the purchase of a Dell Storage Area network device and 2 Del power connect switches for $28,800 dollars to be placed at the Justice Center to be used for virtual servers on the north side of the network–$17,600 dollars will be paid from budgeted funds.
County Auditor Patricia Allen will talk about approval of payment to the new Jail architect firm of Burns Architecture of $18,600 dollars from budgeted funds. She will also discuss approval of a payment to the construction company for the new jail, Sedalco, of $753,500 dollars as approved by the architect and jail project manager.
Purchasing Director Mike Williford will talk about approval of a purchase from jail funds of an access control system for doors at the new jail from Siemens Industry for $57,698 dollars. Mr. Williford will also discuss the approval of SOLARNET to proceed the second phase of the air conditioning control system upgrades for the Courthouse Building for $20,400 dollars.
