EARLY VOTING began at 8:00 this morning for the November 5th General and Special Elections. There are several local entities holding a joint election including the Constitutional Amendment Election and the Local Option Election in Justice Precinct 2 both held by Walker County. The City of Huntsville has several items on the ballot, along with Huntsville ISD, the City of New Waverly, and New Waverly ISD. Sample ballots are available at the participating entities in the joint election, at the Elections Department located at the Walker County Annex, or online at www.co.walker.tx.us (just click on the Current Election tab on the Home Page). There are 24 different ballots this election and with the recent redistricting completed by the City and the County, it is crucial that each voter knows what precinct and ward they live in and where they will go to vote for this election. But for the next two weeks, voters are encouraged, regardless of where you live in Walker County, to come to the Walker County Annex at 1301 Sam Houston Ave–same place where you register your vehicle–and vote early. Just don’t forget your photo ID.
There will be two twelve-hour days during early voting–on Tuesday, October 22nd, and on Tuesday, October 29th, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
