Early Voting Update

Published on October 28, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Tax Assessor Collector Diana McRae reports that everything has gone very smoothly so far as it relates to the new photo ID law. As of Friday, they have had 772 voters cast ballots during the first week of Early Voting and, of those, less than a handful did not have one of the acceptable forms of identification required but chose to leave and come back at a later time with proper photo ID. She said the voters appeared to be very informed and prepared when they arrived at the Walker County Annex to vote.

Ms. McCrae wants to encourage all voters to come out and vote early at the Annex during the second week of Early Voting which is today through Friday, November 1st, 8am to 5pm–except for Tuesday, October 29th, which will have open hours of 7am to 7pm.

Sample ballots are available at the Elections Department located at the Walker County Annex or online at www.co.walker.tx.us. Click on the Current Election tab on the Home Page.
