This is starting to get awkward. Whenever Keith
Urban
gets goose bumps on American Idol, I get goose bumps. And it happened again during girl’s week (Feb. 13-14)
in Hollywood. Especially when Kree Harrison starting singing “Stars” by Grace
Potter
. By the middle of the song, Urban was literally rubbing the goose bumps on his arms. “Can I just say quickly, I’ve
fought for you a few times, and I know why,” he said. “‘Cause your voice is one of my favorites in the entire competition.
You have something amazing in your voice that, literally, my arms get covered in chills when you hit certain notes.” Harrison
also did an outstanding job the night before when her group, the Dolly Chicks, tackled the Dixie
Chicks
‘ “Sin Wagon.” Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition,
indeed.

More chills happened when Angela Miller sat at the piano and sang a song of her own called “Set Me Free.”
While original songs are usually Idol suicide, this one just worked. Urban sat there stunned, saying things like “Good
Lord” and “Oh, my goodness” and “Wow.” The judges all gave Miller a standing ovation for the song inspired by the 81st psalm
in the Book of Psalms. “If that was recorded right there, I would play that in my car. That is just a beautiful song,” Urban
said. “I know so many people at home right now are like, ‘Where do I get that song?’”

Other ladies Urban and I both
loved? Janelle Arthur — who as you may recall had the genius idea to fuse Urban’s “Where
the Blacktop Ends”
and “Walk in the Country” in her audition — did Randy
Travis
‘ “I Told You So.” Goose bumps. And Melinda
Ademi did Jessie J’s “Price Tag.” Again, goose bumps, even though it wasn’t the slightest bit country. “You have such a good
light about you, and I’ve seen it consistently through all your performances,” Urban told her. “I think you’ve got a good
shot.”

Oh, and quirky Kez Ban was sent home.
