OFFSTAGE: Hunter Hayes’ Grammy Playlist Mixes Eras and Genres

Published on January 25, 2013 by CMT News

Hunter Hayes
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and
out of the spotlight.)

Hunter Hayes is one of the most-nominated
artists at this year’s Grammy Awards. He’s up for three — best new artist (in all genres), best country solo performance
and best country album. While he’s immersed in his own kind of Grammy love, Hayes took the time to put together a playlist
of 10 winning songs
. It’s a list that has a lot of country, obviously, but also some RB, rock and pop. And some tunes
are from as far back as 1974 — way before Hayes was even born — right up to more current stuff from 2010.

“Living
for the City,” Stevie Wonder
“That’s the Way Love Goes,” Merle Haggard
“Ain’t
That Lonely Yet,” Dwight Yoakam
“Go Rest High on That Mountain,”
Vince Gill
“In My Place,” Coldplay
“Letter
to Me,”
Brad Paisley
“Gravity,” John Mayer
“Just the Way
You Are,” Bruno Mars
“Need You Now,” Lady Antebellum
“Mean,”
Taylor Swift
