OFFSTAGE: Nashville Men Can’t Tell Country From Colors

The Cast of Nashville

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and
out of the spotlight.)

The guys on Nashville are good at a lot of things: sex, scandal, singing, songwriting.
But they seriously suck at this Glamour magazine game called “Nail
Polish or Country Song?”
All four manly men — Jonathan Jackson, Charles Esten, Eric Close and Sam Palladio — sit around
trying to determine if “Sparks Fly,” “Gunpowder
Lead,”
“BBQ Stain” and “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck”
are songs or not. They fail miserably. But, they look good, so that helps you forget their shortcomings. The story goes on
to reveal a little about each guy’s background. Jackson was on
General Hospital
in the late ’90s. Esten used to be on The Office. Close did a faux FBI stint on Without
a Trace
. And Palladio is kind of new at this. At least in America. “I auditioned on webcam. It was my first visit to the
U.S. when I came to Nashville,” he said.
