Tuesday, Huntsville Memorial Hospital and other local entities brought a Walker County Health Fair and “Are Your Ready” seminars to the Walker County Storm Shelter.
Sessions presented last night included presentations by Texas A&M Forest Service on the Urban Wildfire Interface; the Huntsville Fire Department on the “Ready, Set, Go” campaign; the Huntsville Police Department on Active Shooter situations and Stranger Danger; Texas AgriLife Extension on Animals in Disaster; Huntsville Memorial Hospital with a Pandemic Presentation; Emergency Medical Services on Mass Casualty Incident Triage; and the National Weather Service, DPS, and the Texas Department of Emergency Management on Hurricane Preparedness.
All had informative presentations of special interest to the community. One great area of concern over the past couple of years covered issues of urban wildfire and also the Ready, Set, Go campaign on fire issues.
