HHS Student Dies as a Result of Injuries from Accident Last Month

Seventeen-year-old Huntsville High School student Jami LeAnn Chatham passed away at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston on New Year’s day as a result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident a month ago in Huntsville.

She had received a head injury as a result of falling out of the back of a truck and hitting the pavement while the vehicle was turning into the parking lot of a business on Sam Houston Avenue on December 2nd.

The 17-year-old driver of the truck in the accident has been charged with two counts of intoxicated assault.

Visitation will take place today from 5 to 9 PM at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 PM Friday at Pace-Stancil Chapel.
