High-Speed Chase through Huntsville Wednesday

Published on July 12, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Forty-two-year-old Kerry Alan D’annunzio is in the Walker County Jail for charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and evading arrest on foot following his failure to pull over during a traffic stop on Montgomery Road Wednesday.

Around three Wednesday afternoon, HPD responded to a theft call at Wal-Mart and were informed that a thief had fled the scene in a white Chrysler PT Cruiser. An HPD officer next spotted a vehicle of that description on Montgomery Road and tried to stop the driver.

In his vehicle, D’annunzio took off toward the SHSU campus before eventually winding up on Lake Road. He next went down the I-45 frontage road the wrong way. D’annunzio then went over the Montgomery Road overpass and was headed on the I-45 South feeder when officers apprehended him.

D’annunzio is also being charged with misdemeanor theft. There was also an out-of-county arrest warrant out on him.
