HISD Board Meets

The HISD Board of Trustees will get together for a regular meeting at the Hawkins Administration Building at six this evening. There will be a Board Workshop with a presentation by Huntsville Memorial Hospital previous to the meeting at 5:30.

The Board will honor staff and others tonight with special recognition.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes board approval of a budget amendment, printing services bids, athletic supplies and equipment, and a report on HISD monthly discipline.

Tonight boardmembers will consider approving the 2013-16 HISD Technology Plan, roof replacement at the High School Vocational Building, Historic Site Property tax exempton for Samuel Walker Houston Museum and Cultural Center,an expedited waiver for Timeline for Accelerated Instruction, and an Operational Procedures Agreement for Partnership between Sam Houston State University, K12 Learning, and HISD.

Boardmembers will hear annual program evaluations on state compensatory, dyslexia, and special education.

They will also hear a report on the 2013-14 Campus Improvement Plans.

Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson will give a legislative update.
