HISD Board of Trustees Meets Tonight

The HISD Board of Trustees will meet this evening at six at the Hawkins Administration Building.

The Board will recognize staff members tonight.

There will be a presentation of the proposed 2013-14 School Year Budget and Tax Rate and a Public Hearing on the Budget and Tax Rate.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes approval of the 2013-14 HISD Professional Development and Appraisal System Appraisers and 2013-14 Appraisal Calendar; approval of the order for the School Trustees Election on November 5th; approval of the joint agreement with Walker County, the City of Huntsville, WalkerCounty Hospital District, City of New Waverly, New Waverly ISD, Richards ISD, and City of Riverside for the November 5th Election; and approval of a resolution regarding County Agents as Adjunct Faculty.

Tonight the Board will consider approval of the 2013-14 School Year Budget, approval of the 2013 School Year Tax Rate, approval of the partnership with the City of Huntsville for additional campus security, and approval of hazardious zones within two miles of school campus.

Tonight’s reports and discussion items include March, May, and July 2013 Exit Level TAKS retest results; the 2013 Advanced Placement Results; 2013 Accountability Ratings; and the 2013 Summer Renovation Update.

And, Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson will present a report on the Start of School 2013-14.
