HISD Bond Package Discussions Underway

Published on December 10, 2013 by Larry Crippen

The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees and Administration held their first Community Meeting to discuss their current facility needs and the potential for a future bond package at Mance Park Middle School Auditorium last night. Here’s a correction–the next meeting is January 13th at 6:30 in the Scott Johnson Elementary Cafeteria. They look forward to hearing citizens’ comments. Huntsville ISD would also appreciate local participation in their current Community Survey where they are collecting information about how the community feels about the district’s facility needs and options on the potential for a future bond election. The Survey link can be accessed via the HISD website at huntsville-isd.org. Paper surveys are available by calling 435-6300.

In early January, HISD will conduct a staff survey. At the January 16th regular board meeting, there will be a finalization of bond committee members. The first meeting for the committee is scheduled for January 23rd at Huntsville High School where the district will discuss the needs determined by the last planning committee, take a look at the community survey and put together a schedule for future work.
