HISD Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson on House Bill #5

At the last session of the HISD Board of Trustees, Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson began initial comments on the passing of House Bill #5 in the legislature . . . .

Dr. Johnson said it does cause them to have to look again at something called “Policy E.I.C.” which is grade-point averaging. He said it would cause them to have to “take a look at how we calculate the EPA” again . . . .

The “15% Rule” had to do with requiring a student’s performance on an end-of-course assessment for various courses to account for 15 percent of the student’s final grade in the course.

Dr. Johnson said he would provide trustees with more information on House Bill #5 soon.
