Published on February 18, 2013 by Larry Crippen

HPD is looking into an incident that occurred Friday around 2 AM which started with an altercaton between a group from Shepherd and local residents at Shenanigan’s nightclub on 11th Street in Huntsville and escalated into shots fired during a car chase through Huntsville. There were no injuries in the incident. Local law enforcement detained six for questioning who were believed to be involved.

Following a scuffle between the two groups at the club, the incident continued in the parking lot of Jack in the Box on Highway 30. Next, those involved took off in their vehicles east on 11th Street.

Reports say the group from Shepherd allegedly fired shots at the other vehicle using a .22 calibre rifle. The two trucks were pulled over by HPD around 2:40 AM at Highway 190 and Sycamore. A .22 rifle was found in the Shepherd residents’ vehicle, and the vehicle’s occupants were taken to the police station for questioning.

If you have information on this incident, call Huntsville Police at 291-5480.
