HPD Looking for Robbery Suspect

Published on September 24, 2013 by Larry Crippen

The Huntsville Police Department is asking for assistance from the community in solving three robberies that have occurred over the past two weeks. It is believed the suspect in each of the robberies is the same person, a middle aged black male, approximately 6 feet in height and of slim build.

The first robbery occurred on Wednesday the 13th at Hardy’s Drive In on Highway 75 North. In this robbery, the suspect displayed a knife and demanded the clerk give him money from the register. The clerk complied and was not injured. The suspect then fled the store with the money.

The second robbery occurred on Tuesday the 17th at the Dollar General on Hwy. 75 North. In this robbery, the suspect again demanded the clerk give him money from the register while threatening with a knife. The clerk complied and was not injured. The suspect fled the scene with the money.

The third robbery occurred on Saturday the 21st at the 1st Convenience Bank on I-45 North. In this robbery, the suspect provided a note to the clerk demanding the clerk put money in a bag. Similarly, during this robbery, the suspect made gestures that led the clerk to believe he had some type of weapon. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled with the money.

The first two robberies occurred around 9:00 p.m., and the third robbery occurring around 12:00 noon.  In each of the robberies the suspect is dressed similarly, wearing an olive green jumpsuit/coveralls and a ball cap, possibly camouflage in color. During the robbery at 1st Convenience Bank the suspect wore an olive green jacket or long sleeve shirt instead of the jumpsuit/coveralls.

HPD is asking for help from the community in solving these cases.

Photographs of the suspect taken during the robberies may be found on the Huntsville Police Department Facebook page.
