HPD Vehicle Study

At last week’s regular session of the Huntsville City Council, HPD Sergeant Jeff Dugas gave a thorough presentation comparing different vehicles that could be utilized as patrol vehicles by the Huntsville Police Department.

The famous Crown Victoria police vehicle is no longer being made for law enforcement. So, police agencies are turning to the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Charger, and the Ford SUV and other vehicle models to replace it.

Sergeant Dugas said he spoke with City of Huntsville fleet manager Mike Clouds . . . .

Sergeant Dugas said, “When you take the factors of ergonomics, performance, economy, and safety” into consideration . . . .”
