Huntsville City Councilmember Fitch Resigning

Published on June 17, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Position #1 At-Large councilmember James Fitch announced Friday that he is resigning from his city council position.

Councilmember Fitch has joined the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office following serving over four years with the University Police Department and eight locally with HPD.

It is expected that Fitch will make the announcement official at tomorrow’s council meeting.

Officer Fitch told the media that with “working shift work, there’s just a chance I’d be missing way too many meetings, and I couldn’t give 110 percent.”

How and when Fitch’s vacated council seat will be filled has yet to be released.
