Local AFSCME Union President Raises Issues on Pay Raises

AFSCME local union president for TDCJ correctional officers Lance Lowery says their “pay raises were disproportionate to the amount of revenue that was being brought in by the state.” He added, “Other areas that were disproportionate were executive pay raises.”

He said, “Correctional officers gained a 5% pay raise over the next few years . . . .”
