Man Found Dead in Sam Houston National Forest

Walker County law enforcement authorities have charged 22-year-old Cristian Zamora with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a young unidentified Hispanic man whose body was found Monday morning in the Sam Houston National Forest. The body was found off of FM 2929 between Southwood Drive and FM 2296.

Investigators were still collecting evidence last night. The body of the victim has been taken for autopsy to the medical examiner’s office.  Information will be provided on the crime as it becomes available.

The name of the victim was not released pending notification to family members.
