In Huntsville Police news, on the day shift Friday shortly after 11 AM an unknown suspect was reported to have stolen a wallet in the 1500 block of 11th Street. There were four cases of an unknown suspect using another’s identifying information that day in the 600 block of I-45 South, in the 1400 block of Brazos Drive, in the 3400 block of Old Houston Road, and in the 1600 block of Sycamore Avenue.
On Friday’s night shift, in the 100 block of I-45 South a 35-year-old man was arrested for assault in family violence, injury to a child, and municipal warrants.
On the day shift Saturday, unknown suspects stole several motorcycles–in the 1300 block of Smither Drive, the 5000 block of Sam Houston Avenue, and the 2300 block of Lake Road. The motorcycle stolen from the 5000 block of Sam Houston Avenue was recovered by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office out of gas in the 100 block of southbound I-45. Also in the 5000 block of Sam Houston on Saturday, an unknown suspect damaged a victim’s motorcycle while attempting to steal it. A vehicle burglary was also reported in the 900 block of Avenue N.
On Saturday’s night shift, HPD assisted the University Police Department in apprehending two suspects that fled on foot. One of the suspects was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
On Sunday’s day shift, a vehicle burglary was investigatd in the 3000 block of State Highway 30.
On the night shift Sunday, in a case of criminal mischief known suspect caused damage to several windows at a residence in the 300 block of Sowell Road. And, in a domestic incident in the 900 block of Thomason Street, a known suspect hit his wife in the face causing bodily injury.
