“Remembrance” Tomorrow for Those Who Died in Prison

Published on November 01, 2013 by Larry Crippen

On, Saturday, November 2nd–a day when many Texans honor the dead and reflect on their own mortality on Dia de los Muertos–members and friends of the Texas Interfaith Center for Public Policy will lay flowers at the graves of more than 3,000 individuals who have died in the state’s prisons.

The laying of flowers at 10 AM will follow a brief interfaith service of remembrance at 9 AM at Huntsville’s Wesley United Methodist Church. Author and SHSU graduate Frank Wilson will also be available for a Q&A at noon at the First United Methodist Church about his forthcoming book about the cemetery.
