The Polk County District Attorney’s Office will be doing a great run to benefit the Livingston SAAFE House and Childrenz Haven organizations. The Annual Super Hero 5K/10K Run in honor of victims of violent crimes on April 6th is at the Alabama Coushatta Indian Reservation. Businesses and individuals are invited to sponsor the Super Hero 5K/10K Run, at three sponsorship levels–$100, $250 and $500 dollars. If you’re a runner or just want to get involved in the run, registration is now open and on-site registration for the 5K/10K and Childrenz run will begin at 7:30 AM, April 6th. The first 100 adult registrants will receive a free T-shirt, and the first 25 children will also receive a free T-shirt. You are encouraged to register now. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Lunch will be provided for all runners. They will also have additional hamburgers available, so bring the family to cheer you on. All proceeds will benefit local nonprofits, SAAFE House and Childrenz Haven, specializing in victim advocacy and restoration. All money raised will remain in Polk County to assist numerous victims of violent crimes in the recovery process. Visit childrenzhaven.org or saafehouse.org for details or stop by SAAFE House at 1426 Sam Houston Ave at 15th.
