Stage 1 Water Conditions Lifted

Published on October 22, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Stage 1 Water Shortage Conditions–Voluntary Restrictions–were lifted in the city on October 18th due to the recent rainfall and the corresponding decrease in water consumption. The City of Huntsville Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan states that when average daily water consumption falls below 10 million gallons a day for a period of five consecutive days, and weather conditions are not considered to be in drought classification determination, Stage 1 may be rescinded. Stage 1 Water Shortage conditions could be triggered again if the ten-day average daily water use of 10 million gallons is reached again along with other water supply and weather factors.
