Published on January 08, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Monday, the U-S Supreme Court refused to review the case of 51-year-old Kimberly McCarthy who is scheduled to be executed later this month for the murder of retired college professor Dorothy Booth in 1997 in Lancaster.

Among 10 women on Texas’ death row, McCarthy is the only one with a date set for execution.

McCarthy’s attorney, C. Wayne Huff, said he would file a clemency request with Governor Perry.
