During the weekend, a 35-year-old man from Conroe died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while in the Conroe Wal-Mart. Police have identified the man as Joseph Watson who worked as a correctional officer in Huntsville.

He had taken a seat in the pharmacy department, when he shot himself in the chest. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Conroe Police Department Sergeant Dorcy Riddle said Watson had been having marital problems with his spouse, who was an employee at the Conroe Wal-mart. She was in the store at the time but was not injured. There were no injuries to shoppers.
