Walker County residents who think — or hope — they might have some money waiting in the state’s Unclaimed Property database can search the list at an event hosted by the Texas Comptroller’s office and Walker County Treasurer Sharon Duke.

Unclaimed Property representatives from the Comptroller’s office will be available to help people search for unclaimed property online, fill out claim forms and answer questions from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4th, at the Walker County Annex in Room 101 at 1301 Sam Houston in Huntsville.

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said, “There is currently about $3.8 billion in the unclaimed property program.”

The Comptroller’s office reports that Walker County residents currently have more than $3 million waiting to be claimed.
