Walker County Historical Commission Celebrates 50 Years

The Walker County Historical Commission will celebrate thir 50th anniversary on Monday, November 18th.

In 1963, the Texas legislature charged all judges and commissioners courts to appoint citizens to a survey committee to survey buildings, cemeteries, and historic sites and record them for the state.

Significant activities from over the years will be highlighted during Monday night’s meeting at 5:30 at the Gibbs Powell House Museum. The public is invited.
