“Wounded Warrior” Banquet Planning Underway

Published on November 25, 2013 by Larry Crippen

The first annual Huntsville Wounded Warrior Banquet was held at the Walker County Fairgrounds in January 2010 with over 700 supporters in attendance. The event has grown each year since–with the 5th Annual banquet slated for January 16th, 2014 at the fairgrounds.

The annual event is held to honor America’s “wounded warriors” — United States soldiers who have been injured in military service. The banquet is a fundraiser for the Warrior and Family Support Center at the Brooke Army Medical Center located in San Antonio’s Fort Sam Houston.

Planning is now underway for the banquet with tickets on sale for $50 each and a table of 6 for $300. Also, corporate sponsors are being sought. Last year, the banquet brought in over $70-thousand dollars in donations.

Football legend Earl Campbell hopes to make his third appearance in January. And, Marcus Luttrell has been invited to promote his new movie “Lone Survivor” coming out next month.
