IT WAS A TOUGH GAME FOR THE SAM HOUSON STATE BEARKATS ON SATURDAY IN THE REGULAR SEASON FINALE, AS THE KATS LOST TO THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS BEARS 49-31. FOR THE BEARKATS, THEY COMPLETED THEIR REGULAR SEASON WITH A RECORD OF 8-AND-4. HOWEVER, THERE’S LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR THE KATS, AS THEY’LL BE MAKING AN APPEARANCE IN THE POST-SEASON ON SATURDAY AT 2PM AS THEY HOST SOUTHERN UTAH IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFF’S WITH THE HOPES OF MAKING TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN FRISCO FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW. AS FOR THE ALPHA OMEGA ACADEMY LIONS, EVEN THOUGH THEY GARNED NEARLY 300 YARDS ON OFFENSE SATURDAY, THEIR SEASON IS NOW OVER AFTER LOSING TO BOERNE GENEVA 51-6 IN THE TAPPS STATE QUARTERFINALS. THE LIONS ENDED THEIR SEASON WITH A RECORD OF 8-AND-3. LOOKING AT VOLLEYBALL, THE SHSU BEARKATS WERE IN CORPUS CHRISTI FRIDAY NIGHT TAKING PART IN THE SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT AS THEY FACED A&M CORPUS CHRISTI. IN THE END, THE KATS FELL TO THE ISLANDERS IN FOUR SETS. THE BEARKATS FINISHED THEIR SEASON WITH A RECORD OF 17-AND 11.
