THE BASEBALL SEASON CAME TO A DISAPPOINTING END YESTERDAY FOR THE SAM HOUSTON STATE BEARKATS. THE KATS WERE IN BATON ROUGE FOR THE NCAA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT, AND SUNDAY THEY WERE FACING LOUISIANA-LaFAYETTE, BUT THE RAGIN CAJUNS HAD HOTTER BATS, BEATING SAM HOUSTON 7-5. THE BEARKATS ENDED THEIR SEASON WITH A RECORD OF 38 AND 22.

LOOKING AT MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL…THE HOUSTON ASTROS ARE CURRENTLY ONE OF THE HOTTEST TEAMS ON THE DIAMOND. HOUSTON BEAT OUT THE ANGELS 5-4 IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THE ASTROS HAVE IMPROVED TO 10-AND-7 IN THEIR LAST 17 GAMES AND HAVE WON THEIR LAST 5 STRAIGHT, NOT TO MENTION THEY’VE WON THEIR LAST FOUR SERIES. THE ASTROS WILL FACE THE ANGELS AGAIN LATER THIS EVENING.

THE TEXAS RANGERS WERE AT HOME SUNDAY PLAYING HOSE TO KANSAS CITY, WITH TEXAS GETTING THE WIN 3-1. NEXT UP FOR THE RANGERS IS A ROAD GAME AS THEY TAKE THEIR FIRST PLACE A/L WEST RECORD TO BOSTON TO FACE THE AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST LEADING BOSOX.
