A&M Graduate Drowns in Lake Conroe Boating Accident

Published on May 05, 2014 by Larry Crippen

Saturday night shortly before 9, 25-year-old former Texas A&M student Ross Lehmberg of College Station died in a boating accident on Lake Conroe.

Lehmberg, drifting in “party barge” with around 50 other people, jumped from the upper deck, hit the bottom deck and rolled into the lake. Several people jumped in to save him, but they could not find him.

The Montgomery County Precinct 1 Lake Divsion Dive Team and Texas Game Wardens arrived on the scene. Lehmberg’s body was recovered around 12:30 AM.

Law enforcement says alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, but they are waiting for autopsy results.
