Calli Dretke Gets 10 Years Probation and $4,000 Fine For Felony Intoxicated Assault

Published on June 12, 2014 by Larry Crippen

Wednesday morning in Montgomery County, Huntsville resident Calli Dretke pleaded guilty to a charge of felony intoxicated assault of a peace officer.  It all stems from an incident on April 22nd of 2012 in which officers say Dretke crashed into a Breath Alcohol Testing van and two marked Montgomery County patrol cars on Research Forest Road in the Woodlands.  Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy Stephen Jones suffered a broken leg when he was hit by Dretke’s vehicle.

Dretke was given 10 years probation and a fine of $4,000 plus court costs.  Her driver’s license will be suspended for one year, and she has to perform 500 hours of community service.

She is also required to make a formal apology to Deputy Jones and speak to students at Huntsville High School about the dangers of DWI.  An ignition interlock that detects blood-alcohol level is required to be installed in her vehicle.   She will also serve 90 days of house arrest.
