One of the major topics for discussion at Tuesday night’s Huntsville City Council session was the need for speed cushions on River Oaks Drive in Elkins Lake.
Councilmember Joe Rodriguez was one of the major proponents of solving the speed issue there . . . .
Over 90 percent of the street’s residents were reported to have signed a petition asking for the cushions. Councilmember Rodriguez mentioned others in support of the speed cushions include City Engineer Yellembalsi Ramachandra, HPD Chief Kevin Lunsford and Sheriff Clint McCrae.
The measure was passed by a vote of 7 to 2.
