City Council Meets

The Huntsville City Council meets at six this evening at City Hall.

Previous to the meeting at 5:30, the Department of Tourism and Cultural Services will present their new video and promotional information to the City Council.

On tonight’s “Consent Agenda,” Neighborhood Services Director Dr. Sherry McKibben will discuss applications for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Community Outdoor Outreach Program Grant and the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Grant Program, including an interlocal agreement with the County. She will also discuss authorizing the mayor to replace Chandra Steinback with Lindsey Owings as the alternate Labor Standards Officer for the Texas General Land Office.

Tonight the council will also meet in “Executive Session” to consider advice on various legal issues. They will then reconvene and take action, if necessary, on items addressed in the session.

Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes a second reading and possible action on awarding a construction contract to 5-T Utilities for waterline replacement along U-S 190 project construction and adoption of an associated budget amendment. Dirctor of Parks and Leisure Joseph Wiggs will discusssa facilities maintenance assessment. Director of Community and Economic Development Aron Kulhavy will discuss possible action on the Development Code Revision process.

City Manager Matt Benoit may feature presentations on various City projects tonight.
