City Council Meets

The Huntsville City Council meets for a regular sesion this evening at six at City Hall.

Councilmembers will hear a presentation on Huntsville Police Department Best Practices Recognition.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes the second reading of the purchase and installation of three generators to be placed at various water well sites, a second reading of an authorization for the City Manager to enter into a contract for rehabilitation of the Elevated Storage Tank #1 at the Palm Street Water Plant, and the approval of a tax sale bid for trust properties in Elkins Lake.

Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes discussion and possible action on authorizing the City Manager to approve an amendment to a task order with Schaumburg and Polk for the purpose of including construction engineering services for Safe Routes to School, and discussion and possible action to authorize the City Manager to award a construction contract for the Avenue J and Lake Road sidewalk projects.

Mayor Mac Woodward will present for discussion and possible approval his appointments to City Council Committees, his nomination for an alternate representative to the Houston-Galveston Area Council, and his nomination of Kristie Kelarek and Rainee Thompson to positions on the Youth Advisory Board.

City Manager Matt Benoit may also file his report City activities.
