The Huntsville City Council holds their regular meeting this evening at 6 at City Hall.
Previous to the regular session, at 5:30, they will hold a workshop to discuss Code Enforcement and neighborhood improvement polices and procedures.
Presentations this evening include Amanda Nowlin-O’banion speaking on the national Book Awards event, a presentation of City Secretary intern Demi Glover, United Way of Walker County Director Sheila Cannon’s update on grants, and an audit report for fiscal year 2012-13 from Patillo, Brown, and Hill.
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes authorizing the City Manager to purchase a 75-foot custom cab ladder truck for the Fire Department, the purchase of a generator to be placed at the Elkins Lake Dam Lift Station and authorizing the city manager to purchase five 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicles for $137,000 and needed accessories not exceeding $91,485.
Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes possible action to award a bid for renovation of the Elkins Lake Post Office Lift Station.
City Manager Matt Benoit may also discuss various city projects.
The council will also meet in closed executive session to discuss various issues.
