The Huntsville City Council meets at six this evening for a regular session.
Previous to the meeting there will be workshops beginning at 4 in the large conference room. Councilmembers will discuss monument entry and a way-finding signage consultant. They will also discuss Capital Improvement Projects scheduling, dispositon and planning.
KSAM & “104-9 the Hits” Operations Director Brooke Addams will update councilmembers on Relay for Life events.
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes a budget amendment for speed cushions on River Oaks, a second reading of the City’s Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan and authorization of the City Manager to enter into a contract with TxDOT for the exchange of land at and adjacent to the location of City Water Well Number 13.
Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes possible action on an interlocal agreement with the County for the operations of the new County jail facilities. There will also be “first readings” on the Rentention Incentive Payment, a construction contract to 5-T Utilities for waterline replacement along Highway 190 and suspension of the rates proposed by the Centerpoint GRIP filing made on March 31st.
At tonight’s session, there will also be a Budget Overview and Policy Discussion. There will be possible action on the nomination of Patillo, Brown & Hill as the City’s 2013-14 auditing and reporting firm. Councilmember Allen will provide council direction to the City Manager with respect to the maintenance and care of vacant City-owned lots.
