City Council Meets Tonight

Published on August 05, 2014 by Larry Crippen

The Huntsville City Council will meet at City Hall at six this evening.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes the adoption of an ordinance calling the November 4th general election for the purpose of electing four at-large Councilmembers and approval of the 2014 Joint Election Agreement and Election Services Contract with Walker County for the November election.

Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes possible action on a contract for the design and contract administration of way-finding signage for the City of Huntsville that was postponed from the July 15th meeting. There may also be possible action on entering into an agreement with Klotz Associates for professional engineering services for the Town Creek Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project Phase #2 Design. Councilmembers may possibly take action to consider placing a proposal to adopt a property tax rate of $0.4136 per $100 valuation for the 2014-15 Fiscal Year on the agenda of the September 16th council meeting.

Tonight the Council may also approve various nominations for boards, committees and commissions. City Manager Matt Benoit or department heads may update the council on various City projects.
