The Texas AgriLife Extension Service Passenger Safety Project in partnership with the Brazos Valley Injury Prevention Coalition and the Texas Department of Transportation – Bryan District – is hosting a Click-It or Ticket media event at New Waverly High School to kickoff this year’s Click It or Ticket campaign which will run May 19th through June 1st. The press event will be held on May 14th starting at 11:30 AM. This high visibility enforcement and media message campaign raises awareness about wearing seat belts. The event will include the Crashed Truck Exhibit and the Distracted Driving Simulator. Representatives from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Walker County Constable’s Office and New Waverly ISD will be present to speak. The Texas Department of Transportation will provide public information and education promotional incentives to remind participants about traffic safety. Demonstrations of the Distracted Driving Simulator and the Crashed Truck Exhibit will be done from 10 AM to 2 PM. The Crashed Truck will feature audio from the two teens that survived a horrific crash in their truck thanks to their seat belts!
