Council Decides Tax Rate Proposal And Signage Study

Good news for local city taxpayers.   Mac Woodward and the Huntsville City Council has proposed a new lower tax rate.

Finance Director Steve Ritter addressed councilmembers at their meeting at City Hall last night . . . .


Mayor Mac Woodward said, “This is a seven-tenths of a cent reduction from our current tax rate . . . .”


Councilmembers voted unanimously to approve the lower proposed tax rate to be on the agenda of the September 16th Council session.

Councilmembers also approved a contract for the design and contract administration of way-finding signage for the City.

Mayor Mac Woodward and City Manager Matt Benoit clarified exactly what was being considered for approval . . . .


The way-finding signage agenda item passed unanimously.
