Council Session Recognized Youth

Several presentations at this week’s regular council session concerned youth.

For example, local Troop 98 Boy Scout Matthew Fields is working on his Eagle Scout Project.

His project is the proper disposal of American flags at the end of their usefulness. Matthew said he visited with Mayor Mac Woodward about his effort, and the mayor suggested building boxes to put in front of the courhouse and City Hall so that the public can dispose their flags . . . .


Local Chamber President Carol Smith recognized 23 students who participated in the Youth Leadership Institute. She said, “The Chamber and the City partnered together. We started it last spring, and it’s been our first full school year to have a Youth Leadership Institute . . . .
