Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel spent five hours Wednesday fielding questions from the House Armed Services Committee about the recent exchange of five Taliban leaders for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.
Several of the nation’s legislators were not happy on being left out of the prisoner swap talks. Democratic Representative Adam Smith of Washington said, “There’s no reason why that 30-day notice couldn’t have been given to the leadership in Congress.”
