Early Voting and Primary Runoffs Ahead

Published on May 16, 2014 by Larry Crippen

County Election Officer Diana McRae informs us that early voting for the Republican Primary Runoff and the Democratic Primary Runoff will begin Monday, May 19th. Early voting will last for only one week, instead of two. Also, election day poll places have been combined by the parties down to three locations.

All Voting Precincts, except 304 and 404, will vote at the Walker County Annex on Sam Houston Avenue.

Precinct 304 will vote at Riverside United Methodist Church at  2341 FM 980.

Precinct 404 wll vote at New Waverly First Baptist Church at 460 Fisher Street in New Waverly.

Voters that did not vote in the Primary Elections are still eligible to vote in the Runoff Elections. However, if you voted in a Primary Election of a particular party or attended a party’s convention, you are only eligible to vote in that party’s runoff.

Early Voting will be held at the Walker County Annex located at 1301 Sam Houston Avenue, Room 101, beginning Monday, May 19th through Friday, May 23rd, from 8am to 5pm. Voter entrance and parking is available on the South side of the Annex at the Vehicle Registration entrance which is also where curbside voting will be available for voters who are physically unable to enter the poll place.
