Fire Truck Purchase Discussed at City Council Session

Published on March 10, 2014 by Larry Crippen

During Huntsville’s regular City Council session last week, councilmembers heard a first reading regarding the purchase of a 75-foot custom cab ladder truck for the Huntsville Fire Department and equipment for $715,000.

It’s basically replacing two trucks. Ward #4 Councilmember Joe Rodriquez asked Fire Chief Tom Grisham, “How do you replace two trucks with one?”

Chief Grisham filled him in . . . .

The fire truck was planned for in previously budgeted funds. Councilmembers will likely look at the purchase in a 2nd reading of the agenda item at their next session.
