HISD Board Does Not Approve Bond Election in May

Published on February 26, 2014 by Larry Crippen

At Tuesday’s special called meeting of the HISD Board of Trustees, board members voted unanimously not to have a bond election in May.

Board president J-T Langley commented that there are other district issues that need to be focused on.

The board will be meeting this summer to look at more ways of getting the message out for upgrading schools.

Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson and Board President Langley are in agreement that another bond election will probably be held at some time in the future.

Also in the news for HISD, Mance Park Middle School Principal Ingrid Purvis has resigned to pursue other opportunities. The interim prinicipal for the school will be Huntsville High School associate principal Robert Bennett. The job will be posted in April.
